Blink 182 Biography

Blink-182 released their first full album, Cheshire Cat in 1995 on Grilled Cheese Music. In '96 MCA Records snagged Blink-182 and they released their second album Dude Ranch in '97. By the end of 1998 Blink-182 had been tagged as one of the most popular pop-punk bands of the year. Dude Ranch was a big success, which had a lot to do with the popular single Dammit (Growing Up.) Teens caught the Blink bug when Enema Of The State hit record shelves in 1999 and their popularity exploded. It was a sad day for girls everywhere when, in May 2001, Blink-182 hottie Tom DeLonge got hitched to his long-time sweetheart Jennifer Jenkins . The following month the band released Take Off Your Pants and Jacket . The first single The Rock Show is a big hit and the video. Blink-182's self-titled album is due out in November of 2003.

No Doubt and Blink 182 will team up for a coheadlining U.S. amphitheater tour beginning June 1 in Indianapolis and wrapping June 26 in San Bernardino, Calif. The summer dates will be planned around No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani's work on an Interscope solo album and her role in the upcoming Martin Scorsese film "The Aviator."

It's been a while since we've been on the road, so we're really excited to go out again and celebrate the release of our singles collection ["Singles 1992-2003"]," No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal says in a statement. "I know we will have a great time with the Blink guys." Adds Blink singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, "This is a great opportunity to see two bands from Southern California that have history spanning over a decade. We're honored to be sharing a stage with them again like we did 10 years ago." The group began a 23-date tour of Europe, Australia and Japan Friday, Feb. 6 in London.
