Bon Jovi Biography |

Bon Jovi transformed effortlessly from a hair band of the 1980s to a legitimate rock band in current years, without need for a comeback - they stayed relevant consistently for over two decades.
Jon Bon Jovi brought together Richie Sambora on guitars, David Bryan on keyboards, Alec John Such on bass and Tico Torres on drums in 1983, and there have been no line-up changes since the inception of the band, save the departure of Such in 1994, which brought the group to a quartet.
While the rockers cultivated a following in New Jersey in the early 1980s, they really hit the big time with "Slippery When Wet" in 1986. The album contained three massive hits, "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Livin on a Prayer." The follow-up, "New Jersey" in 1988 was just as successful, including five Top 10 singles such as "Bad Medicine" and "Living in Sin."
The groups next release was "Keep the Faith" in 1992, where they shifted from a harder sound to a more soft, lyrical approach. It worked - they scored hits with "Bed of Roses," "Keep the Faith" and "In These Arms." Next up was a best-of collection that featured another hit power ballad, "Always."
In 2000, the band released "Crush" to massive success. "Its My Life" and "Thank You for Loving Me" were two hits, and they followed up the album with a gigantic tour. "Bounce" was released two years later, including the title track and yet another massive hit, "Everyday."
To celebrate the bands 20th anniversary in 2004, the group released the boxed set "100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Cant Be Wrong," playing off of an Elvis Presley release of the same name. The collection included four CDs with 50 unreleased or rare tracks, plus a DVD.
Bon Jovis next studio release was "Have a Nice Day," which included the country single "Who Says You Cant Go Home," a duet with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. The single was nominated for "Best Country Collaboration with Vocals" at this years Grammy Awards. The band followed the release with a tour through the summer of 2007 and released "Lost Highway" shortly after.
