The Washington Redskins are on the verge of a playoff berth following a huge 35-20 victory over the New York Giants at FedEx Field. The Redskins offense continued to stay hot, as WR Santana Moss caught five passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns. He was a complete menace to the Giants secondary, torching anyone who tried to cover him. Running back Clinton Portis even got into the passing attack. Portis tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to TE Chris Cooley and finished the day with 108 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown as well. Washington can now reach the playoffs in a number of scenarios, but can make it easy on themselves by beating the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday to guarantee their spot in the postseason. The only bad news was the loss of QB Mark Brunell, who injured his knee in the third quarter. Even that came along with some good news though. Quarterback Patrick Ramsey came on in relief of Brunell and tossed a long touchdown pass to Moss and looked comfortable in the pocket. It looks like the Redskins may be hitting their stride at the right time of the season, and that will be more than enough to scare any opponent they may face should they make hte playoffs.
