With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Washington Redskins find themselves just two games out of first place in the NFC East. One of the teams ahead of them, the Dallas Cowboys, comes to town this Sunday for a division showdown at FedEx Field. Should the Redskins defeat the Cowboys, the two teams would have identical records. However, Washington would stake claim to the tie-breaker by virtue of beating Dallas in both regular season meetings. Washington still trails the New York Giants by two games, and will host them the Sunday following the Dallas game. A victory would also put the Redskins into better positioning for a possible wild-card spot should they not be able to catch New York for the division title. A loss would put them in dire straits, with virtually no chance of winning the division and a wild-card berth a real long shot. It's been a long time since the faithful Redskins have had anything to be excited about heading into the last few games of the season. You can be sure that FedEx Field will serve as a huge advantage this weekend with its rabid fans.
