The #19 Maryland Terrapins basketball team is coming off a huge win over #6 Boston College to vault them back into the AP Top 25. Not only did it help Maryland in the rankings, it also helped them in the ACC standings. The game against BC was their first ACC game of the year and allowed the Terps to get off to on the right foot in one of the toughest conferences in the country. Maryland now has a bit of a break before conference play really begins. The Terps next game will be against American on December 23. They will then play three more non-conference games against small Division I schools before beginning two months of strictly conference play. The time off will give G Chris McCray a chance to let his ankle sprain heal and F James Gist some time to let his back rest. It will also be a very critical time for practice. Often teams struggle to keep their focus when they monotony of practice takes over during periods of time when there are very few games to break it up. Coach Gary Williams will have to make sure the team stays focused and continues to improve heading into early and mid January.
