The #16 Maryland Terrapins Men's basketball team hasn't played a game since beating #6 Boston College way back on December 11. The Terps will take the court again tomorrow night, and for the first time in almost two weeks, it won't be just for practice. Maryland will host American in what will be the first of four games over the next three weeks where the Terps will play a small Division I school to get ready for the intense competition the start of the ACC schedule will bring with it. The players will certainly be happy to take the court to compete against anybody other than themselves, which is what they've been doing the past two weeks. It will also give head coach Gary Williams a change to gauge how much the last two weeks of practice has improved the team and what areas they will need to focus on before ACC play begins in just under a month. On another note, Maryland Athletic Director Deborah Yow recently renogotiated Williams' contract, increasing his annual salary to 1.6 million dollars per year with the possibility of earning up to 2.1 million dollars if he reached all of the incentives.
