The Who has announced they are planning a tour for 2006, according to Peter Townshend’s Web site. The band may make some, if not all, of the shows to be viewed on the Internet around the world, with some of the Web casts being pay-per view and others for free. Some of the money made off of the performances shown on pay-per-view would be given to charity.
No dates have been announced but it is expected that the band will unleash some new material on their upcoming tour. A traditional album is not expected, but The Who has backed away from touring before because they have not made a new album since 1982.
