The San Jose Sabercats beat the Chicago Rush 61-49 on Saturday in the AFL Conference Championship game. The Sabercats will go on to play the Columbus Destroyers in the ArenaBowl. Rush starting quarterback Matt D’Orazio was benched after throwing a career-high three interceptions. Backup quarterback Russ Michna threw for five touchdown passes in the loss. San Jose quarterback Mark Grieb threw for 291 yards and six touchdowns in the win. The Sabercats will advance to the ArenaBowl for the third time in six seasons.
