The New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Angels 12-0 on Sunday. Despite the loss, the Angels still lead their division with a record of 53-35. The Yankees are just one game under .500 with a 42-43 record.
The Angels lost 12-0 once earlier this season, and other than that this is the team's worst loss in twenty years. Though they've lost eight of their last twelve games, the Angels are still only a half of a game behind the Boston Red Sox, who currently have the best record in the league.
Hideki Matsui, Robinson Cano, and Alex Rodriguez each had a three-run homer for the Yankees, giving the team a 10-0 lead by the end of the fourth inning. Miguel Cairo hit a two-RBI double in the seventh to put New York up 12-0.
