Jersey Boys Biography |
Jersey Boys documents the road to success for the Four Seasons, one of the top rock n roll acts in the 60s.
The show opened in 2005 at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway as a documentary-style show chronicles the rise of Frankie Valli, Tommy DeVito, Nick Massie and Bob Gaudio. All came from different walks of life - DeVito was a small-time mobster and Massi an ex-con. Together, though, the group found success with hard work, working against the frenzied success of peers the Beach Boys and Beatles, finding a place for themselves on the charts and in the hearts of fans everywhere.
Written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the show is based on interviews with Valli and Goudio, among others involved in the bands beginning. There are first-person accounts from band members through the show, and the rest is part-concert, part-jukebox musical.
In addition to the bold tale, the show is filled to the brim with hit music, including the massive hits Earth Angel, Cant Take My Eyes Off of You, Sherry, Walk Like a Man and Working my Way Back to You.
