The entertaining musical presents a wacky take on the tale of King Arthur in Camelot, and the legendary knights of his round table. The show has some of the same wacky characters as the movie, including King Arthur, Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Sir Robin, the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot. Paying homage to the film, many of the actors in the show play a number of characters.

The show differs from the 1975 film in many ways, and one important difference is the shows use of improvisation. The show regularly references current events and culture, much to the pleasure of audiences.

The North American Tour has been traveling since 2006, and in 2007 it won three Touring Broadway Awards including Best New Musical.

In early 2007, a production of the show began a run in Las Vegas, which features John OHurley as King Arthur.
